Psychoeducational Assessment
Are you or your child struggling with learning or focus? Discover the insights that could help you thrive with a Psychoeducational Assessment in Edmonton.

What is a Psychoeducational Assessment?
A psychoeducational assessment (also called an educational assessment or learning disorder assessment) includes interview questions and standardized tests that look at how you or your child learns and functions. Our psychologists based in Edmonton help children and adults understand learning styles, thinking styles, behaviour, development, and emotional well-being. People commonly seek this type of assessment when they notice struggles with learning, attention, disruptive behaviour, or delayed development.

Purpose of This Assessment?
In a psychoeducational assessment, you or your child work with a psychologist to find strengths and areas of growth. This information is then used to provide a diagnosis (if applicable), describe reasons for the challenges, and outline strategies for improvements. A learning diagnosis can help you or your child get an individualized program plan (IPP), home accommodations, workplace accommodations, and/or government funding. The main goal of a psychoeducational assessment is to help you learn more about yourself or your child and to identify the supports needed along the way to achieve optimal potential!
