Effective Trauma Treatment
  1. Our therapists receive extensive, specialized training in trauma treatment and continually update their skills with the latest research and techniques in trauma therapy
  2. We use evidence-based trauma therapies like EMDR, DBT, and Somatic Therapy.
  3. Our entire clinic environment is designed to be trauma-sensitive and safe.
  4. We address the full impact of trauma on mind, body, and spirit.
  5. Our focus is on building resilience and promoting post-traumatic growth. Our goal is to help clients not just cope with trauma, but thrive beyond it

Unlike trauma-informed care, which mainly involves awareness, our trauma-trained approach equips us to effectively treat trauma, not just recognize it. This ensures our clients receive specialized, comprehensive care tailored to their unique experiences.

How it Works

  1. Establish personalized goals
In your initial session you and your therapist will set specific, actionable goals to support you.
  2. Gain self-awareness and learn new strategies
Our approach helps clients move to self-awareness and acceptance, while also promoting change.
  3. Engage in therapeutic activities beyond just talking
Counselling at Kells is more than a conversation. We will promote healing through language and activities.
  4. Collaborate with your therapist
You are the expert in your own life, so it’s your job to provide feedback throughout the therapy journey.
  5. Practice through homework and real-life application
We work to have the changes you see in therapy transfer to your day-to-day life.
